Award-winning architects near Old Street are looking for an experienced studio and event space manager. This is a great opportunity to join a small friendly team with a passion for design innovation.

Required skills: as the starting point must find the admin role easy, be motivated, outgoing and a self-starter with an interest in design and people. Must be flexible, able to multitask, prioritise workload, good time-management and organisational skills. Well presented, with a great sense of humour.

Studio responsibilities include:

  • admin: monitor stationary, filing, bookkeeping and invoicing, liaising with suppliers/contractors, reception work
  • PA to director and assisting other team members when required
  • building management: liaise with tenants. Utilities, security, rent collection
  • office travel: booking trips, manage expenses
  • PR/marketing: producing press releases, generating media interest, liaising with publications
  • update blogs and social media accounts, competition submissions

With an event space available that the general public and tenants can hire for functions: seminars, exhibitions and parties – the management responsibilities include:

  • handling enquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • create supporting documents and contracts, maintain accurate records and a contact database
  • creative marketing/publicity ideas to generate interest in the space
  • booking, managing and executing events onsite, including help with queries of operational matters such as electricity, waste disposal etc
  • supervise the event (daytime and evening bookings), be on hand to help if required

Excellent written and spoken English essential. Must know Microsoft Office. Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Photoshop would be advantageous.

Experience of operations management, event organising or in-house PR is highly desirable. Local resident preferred as it may be an on-call role.
